Welcome Ben Brassart to the PR Staff

Ben Brassart is a senior at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. He is working toward a bachelor’s degree in Information Networking and Telecommunications with an emphasis in Computer Networking and a minor in English. He received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Network Technology from Flint Hills Technical College, Emporia, Kansas, in 2006.
 
Prior to attending FHSU, Ben was a System Operator at US Foodservice in Lenexa, Kansas, where supported over 100 salespeople and their laptops, provided training for office and remote users on desktop software, and managed asset tracking. In 2008, his job was cut from the budget, and he decided to go back to school.

“I was pretty upset when I lost my job, but now looking back, it is one of the best things that ever happened to me,” said Brassart. “If that hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t be attending school and the great opportunities at webhostingbuzz.com wouldn’t have been presented to me.”

Ben is currently employed in the Office of University Relations at FHSU, where he is the senior writer in the News Bureau.

He is the Vice-President of the Advanced Technology Student Organization and is in charge of their “Computers for Communities” program, which provides refurbished computers at no cost to area non-profit organizations.

“Computers for Communities is a great program to be involved in,” said Brassart. “I’m excited that I have the opportunity to use my technical skills to provide a valuable service to the community.”

Ben enjoys reading any sort of fiction, tinkering with electronics, experimenting with new software, playing the harmonica, music of any variety, writing, and solving the problems of the universe over a beer with his friends.”
