Olympic countdown stops after one day

London 2012 Olympic organizers proudly unveiled a large Olympic clock in Trafalgar Square on Monday. The clock counts down the final 500 days to the 2012 Olympic games.
The next day, the clock stopped. Embarrassed officials and Omega (the clock builder) wiped the egg off their faces and issued assurances that the clock would be quickly fixed.
Omega’s statement said:
“The Omega London 2012 countdown clock was developed by our experts and fully tested ahead of the launch in Trafalgar Square. We are currently looking into why this happened and expect to have the clock functioning as normal as soon as possible.”
The clock has now been fixed. Just another lesson that no matter how well developed and tested something is, failures can happen.
