As one of the pioneers of green hosting, we’ve rapidly seen it become ‘the next big thing’ in the hosting industry. Unfortunately, a lot of this is for the wrong reasons. A number of our less scrupulous competitors quickly followed our lead in announcing various green iniatives. Whilst initially we noted this with some positivity (more people taking action = bigger results, surely?), it’s become apparent that this is more of a marketing tactic. This is not what we wanted to incite!

Hopefully, customers can see through the marketing tactics of some of these competitors and look for the real green companies; and apart from us, there are others – companies that genuinely care about the environment and not just their marketing results.

So I’d urge buyers to beware. Do your research on the green element of our competitors. Can they backup their claims? Are they really green?
